I think I already exhausted this subject, and gave up. After she demonstrated she had rescued and helped about 50 thousand animals, she kind of gained the moral highground, so I gave up my feckless argument. Trying to re-fight the fight?

Why is it odd, I have never spent 1,600 on my cat, but I would in a second if it could extend the happyness that mine brings me. I have spent 1,600 on many things in life (car stereos, tv's, fishing poles, washer dryers, tools, lawn mowers, couch's,chairs, fence's, grass, beer, guns, and whatever else) and I would trade it all for the happyness my pets bring me. They are an extention of my family and maybe other people don't feel the same as me but I really do get offended when people put stupid pictures of dead animals or question spending 1,600 on a cat. How much does season tickets cost, ( I would kick, scratch, and eye gouge for season tickets) but that would not be even a question of what I would spend the money on. And I don't think I am alone on the subject. Rant over. GO GATORS! ![]() フロリダの勝利大学 |

Doesn't register with me. Seems there are much better uses for that money. |

We rescued this cat as a stray, in a state where many strays end up as bait for training fighting dogs. When he became ill, it was either save him again, or put him down. Frankly, I'm fed up with being practical, esp. in this economy, where my pets are concerned.
I don't tell you how to spend your money, and you'll not tell me in return. Capice? Stamp out ignorance: Check the facts on health care reform and other programs at Link March to the beat of your own drummer, but remember to play well with other kiddies. |

No one is telling you how to spend your money. I am however passing judgment on what was done. And if this somehow doesn't sit well with you, perhaps you've posted this discussion on the wrong forum.

Maryland, with all due respect, perhaps you should just cool it. You are the one out of line in this thread. |

Did I ask you to pay for this procedure? Do you pay my bills? Do you have a say in whether or not I save a pet's life? NO. Now kindly go pound sand. Depends on what day it is. We baby sitted a puppy last week, and my daughter loved it. She would SOOO love to have a dog, but I am not sure how we fit a feces- emitting lifestyle-inhibiting 3AM-Yapping vet-bill-accruing creature into our lives right now. If we could do it, we would, for her sake. However, if we did have a pet, and she was attached to it - I'd probably spend $1600 to save it. I originally admitted as much, but still its hypocritical for me to criticize given that. Given what you have done for animals, you have earned the right to splurge. Don't mind MD, he's a good guy, he just has a 2X4 up his ass for some reason.

Thanx. About a puppy for your daughter, try adopting a 1 to 3 yr old dog. It should already be spayed and housebroken, and you'll be saving a life. Once your daughter is older, then consider a puppy. Personally, I stay away from puppies, ordinarily, given the time it takes to housebreak and train them not to chew. Of course, I've been known to break that vow.
