This is a call for all UF Hoops fans not to degrade our program or recruits -- particularly on these public boards:

1) For those negative types prematurely predicting the demise of UF hoops, you ended up being way off-base. Do some searches around the Internet to see what scouts are saying about the Prather - Young combination. They are saying that the Billy Donovan recruiting train is right on track, and that Florida's facilities combined with the talent in the state will keep UF as a consistent national power.

2) We can't help those trying to downgrade our program from without. They are trying to undermine us, because the foundation has suddenly been ripped from under their feet. Imagine what USC football fans would be like if UCLA suddenly won back to back BCS championships and started winning some recruiting battles against them. They would freak -- and that's what the UK fans are doing. They are trying to plant seeds of doubt so we will speak ill of our program. It's not a bad strategy, considering that prospects do read these boards (as we saw with Matt Elam in football) and that UK fans send our negative comments to our mutual recruits on sites like Facebook. Don't fall for it. Keep your faith in Billy D, Foley, and the rest.

I'm not saying you shouldn't question decisions on and off the court, but don't get goaded into writing that the sky is falling. It does nothing to help us. The fact that UK fans are maneuvering to undermine UF just shows to go how far we've come as a program.

I take it as the highest form of flattery.

Great post!!! Some fans need to maintain their cool when one of our "committed" recruite go on offical visit to another school.

Our coaches and administrators are working their butts off to get recruites here; let's support them with encouragement and compliment.

Keep in mind, "opinions are like ********, everyone has one"

Good post and very true! Unfortunately some will let it go "in one eye and out the other!"

CJ Leslie is next to be brought into the family. If he can add BK to that group, we will have the number 1 recruiting class in the country going away.

Donovan wins Wooden Legends of Coaching Award.

I would have loved to play for Donovan... instead I was saddled with Sloan.

/facepalm

I feel for you, brother.

Playing for a coach who went 126-124 in the SEC doesn't sound like much fun.

Playing for one who is currently 126-77 in SEC play and has two NCs...that sounds like fun.

What makes you think we are getting Leslie?

I have no doubt that Billy D will have this program back to where it wants to be.

I also am pretty sure that it won't be this year that he does that, and that UK will have a helluva team this year.

We just have to be patient.

All we have to do is show them your avatar. If you don't come to Florida, look what you're missing.
Cool

We are actually in a really good position for Leslie (UF and NC State lead). UNC and UK are pretty much out of it....but he may end up back with NC State in the end. We'll see what kind of magic Billy D can work here.

I know. I know. I consult for a team in, arguably, the most difficult rotisserie baseball league in the world (Baseball Prospectus) and they erred horribly in giving her a team one year. Fun to look at; but you can't negotiate trades with someone who is more silicone than scholar.

What a great advertisement, however. Even the hot chicks from FSU are visiting UF and donning Gator colors.
