GCG was good because he appeared to have info that came directly out of the athletic dept and football program in-particular that you couldn't find anywhere else.

He actually worked with one of the recruiting sites. He was an insider in reality, not just someone searching for information. From what I hear, he still talks on GatorCountry.com, the site he's affiliated with. He is busy, but also isn't happy with this board, from what I gathered. He came over once after I and others requested him to.

After he made his brief appearance, we mad him a MOD. He has not returned since.
I am not sure what he is upset about. He is more than welcome anytime. GM32 was another great insider. Not sure why he doesnt post anymore.  I am SaltLakeGator and I approve this message.   We Ride! We Fight! We Love! |

I saw that he was only made a mod in the recruiting forum, but I don't think that's what bothered him, I think it was already done. When things changed, he wasn't included, and went where he was. I'm not sure how involved he was with this site, outside of posting, before the change in format, but someone ticked him off. I'm sure his job and schedule had a lot to do with it too. |

Well the problem is no one was included in the development of the new site. He was only a MOD in the recruiting forum on the old board I believe. I could be wrong.
Either way, he will probably be given whatever he wants if he communicates with us. So far as far as I am aware, he has not communicated with us. I am SaltLakeGator and I approve this message. We Ride! We Fight! We Love! |

D't forget last recruiting season on the old GSMB he had to deal with many accusations and constant badgering by that one new poster who claimed to know everything (forget what the new guys name was) Everyday there was another post calling GCG a liar, making things up, bad info, etc...

It would be nice to have GCG back, but like he said with his new job situation, he may be too far out of the loop now to really be an insider. Wouldn't mind having him around though. He knew what he was talking about whether it was about recruiting or anything else.

He was actually just made an admin a few weeks before the switch to the new board. When the switch was made, he was already starting his job in Texas. I had pmed him, asking him stuff, and to possible be the buffer between GSMB and where he was. He was not happy with the board lay out, nor the way everything was headed. Had he given it more time, IMO, he would have found it not so bad. I'm sure we all miss GCG, but life goes on.All we can do is pray that he is successful.

Hopefully GulfCoastGator comes back during November to February months. I enjoyed his insight and his in depth knowledge that he shared. I doubt though that any trolls could scare him off...it was something else (maybe just the move to TX) that made him want to go. The trolls were on our board so he didn't even need to respond to those fools. Their rants never swayed my opinion about GCG.
Oh, on the espnboards there is a guy called Natesdad2 who is a real insider too. I think someone brought this up a while back but here is the link: http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?sport=ncaa&id=57 He is also very in depth and knowledgeable with reruiting. Oh, and he realy likes to go after our rivals, like FSU. Go Gators! |

I changed my username, but it still says my email address. O well. On a serious note, i am an insider and i know insiders from gatorcountry and gatorbait. They wont recognize me by my name, but im here. |

How did GCG get so much respect around here so fast?  I know i will never be what he was to the Gator forum, but i would be honored to be the guy who everyone asks questions too.  Well anyway, ask me anything, but be specific. (Ex: Are we in Xavier Nixon's top five? Who is the leader?) |

Yes! I like. I think people respected GCG so much because he posted things that us average joes couldn't know. Some say he got them from GC, I think he knew that GC stuff plus additional insider stuff. I personally wouldn't care if it was from GC, since that is a great website (I can't afford subscription... but do check the free stuff daily). I think the best thing to do for now, if you would like (Chives too), is to post info on articles that we can't read without a subscription. That would be more than appreciated. Right know, for me at least, I can't think of to many real specific questions. One nonspecific Q: is there any news on highly rated RBs for '09? Again, this is good to hear. I've been waiting for an insider since GCG left. |
