If the LSU fan can eat some crow after their loss, then I think the Mullen haters from the last 2 weeks should man up too.

I cant remember how many "let's get rid of Mullet" posts Ive read. The guy knows what hes doing and this team will only get better once the new guys in the system like Demps, Rainey, Carl Moore, and Thompson get a feel for it.

Go Gators!

Maybe it's the complaining from Gator Nation that finally motivated Mullen to call a balanced game. Maybe Mullen should man up and thank Gator Nation!

Just because the guy does what he is supposed to do (granted it was a big game), it doesnt change that the previous weeks were bad.

And theres still alot of football to play. Lets see how it continues. No one said he couldnt learn from his mistakes and get better, he just hasnt been showing it and until he gets consistent, he hasnt shown it.

I think Mullen will have to be perfect in every game for that too happen however... and that then means Tebow has to be perfect and the o line and...
I don't think Mullen has been perfect or anything but let's not make him the scapegoat the rest of the year if something else goes wrong, say like beating UK only 28-7 or something like that.

Let's just call it a great game plan and move on. It would be great to see less of the negativity and actually make this place fun to come to again.

Nobody will argue that this was a great game all around, and Mullen called some great plays. However, consistency and the ability to adjust of the original gameplan is not working is what we need, and those continue to be Mullen's weak spots.

I don't owe him anything. He did exactly what i was saying he should all along and our offense finally clicked. Maybe he owes us an apology for holding the offense back for 5 weeks.

Most of us said that he and the play calling need to get better if we are going to win, he got better and we won big...why apologize?

12 to the power of 3 then or whatever....you know what I'm trying to say.

I did not think Mullen called a great game. He did good last night but not great. He moved the ball by throwing the ball early in the game and then when we were up by more than 2 scores, he stopped throwing the ball untill he had to throw. Why not just keep throwing the ball on first and second downs and not wait until third down?

Yeah, who ever heard of running the ball effectively in the second half when up by 2 or more scores? dunno

Additionally, any thoughts that maybe he saw lsu taking the pass away after initial success and made the (gulp) adjustments that people are always calling for?

I guess you forgot that we ran the ball for 265 yds?
Did the pass open up the run? Yes. Would I have liked the Gators to score with the short field off of TOs? Yes.
Do I expect the offense to score on every drive? I guess if some of you were calling the plays I could say yes.
The offense put 44 points on the board against LSU.

I dont want you to buy him flowers and candy.

All I'm saying is if you're the kinda guy whose been posting "Mullen is an idiot. Bench Tebow. The offense sucks" for the past 2 weeks, it lookes pretty hypocritcal to be back on the offense's bandwago now.

I'm pretty sure him and Urban have been holding back some things for both the LSU and UGA game because those are the games everyone in the country will be watching.

For people who think Mullen didnt call a good game...If I told you we would put up 51 points against this stout LSU defense on friday, I would be laughed out of the forum.

Takes a big man to admit when he's wrong.

yeah, don't you guys know we're SUPPOSED to get over 50 points a game? Anything less, and he's just not doing his job. I mean, c'mon, we're Gators--we're ENTITLED to the kind of offensive onslaught we witnessed last night.

Also, I can't, like, believe that I only got a BMW for my Sweet Sixteen--I DESERVE AN ASTON MARTIN!! blowup

No apologies required. Mullen was calling butt head games and needed some heat on him. It is like do it or move on and let someone else take a crack at it.

I never once sid fire Mullen, but I will congratulate him (and Meyer who runs this offense despite what so many on this board seem to think). They finally ditched most of the Spread Option cutsie-pie cr@p for some gold old fashioned smash mouth SEC football. Yes, they used "their" formations and threw in a tad bit of option and QB run cr@p for effect, but most of those runs WERE NOT option hand offs. They were pure runs with an H-back or tight end coming in and playing the lead blocker role. Outstanding!!

The people that said Mullen should be fired were out of line. Those people saying he needed to make adjustments were correct. He was not using the skill and speed well.

Sorry but we owe him nothing. It was time that he started doing his job and earning his pay. Let's see a few more weeks of this kind of offense before we are ordered to bow and kiss his ass.
