Im watching the game again on Tivo.
Torrey Davis is a force. Charles Scott fumbled that ball because he was intimidated by T Davis. Davis threw the Guard aside like he wasnt even there and was deep in the backfield before the handoff was made. He was preparing to eat Scott for dinner. I noticed that too, he just tossed that guard right out of the way. He could be a beast inside for us if he keeps his head on straight.

On the other side, we got a solid game from Carl Johnson. Things are starting to come together for the Gators.

You are right that Davis is a beast and when he is going full force he will destroy almost anyone in front of him...but that is not why Scott fumbled. Go look at the replay where it shows the LSU QB handed the ball off above his numbers. When the QB handed the ball off he smacked the ball against the chest protector part of Scott's shoulder pads and the ball bounced straight off. Scott never even got a good shot at getting that ball. As a QB its your job to hit them in the belly. You hand the ball off that high and there will be quite a few fumbles.

I can't wait to see him do some of that against Georgia. Too bad he took so long to get his off the field act together so he could get on the field. We sure could have used him against Missippi State

the reason he handed it off high is one eye was on big daddy coming through the line.

I mentioned this last week when he did the same thing to Arky's RB - he absolutely blew up the line and smashed the guy in the mouth. Almost every time he is in the game, he blows up the line. He looks like a man among boys out there -he is ENORMOUS.
I look at the DL almost every play - he's not out there much. Must still be working his way into coach's good graces. I hope Meyer forgives him soon, because we will need him. |

I loved seeing this guy get in on a big play.
Seriously, the only thing keeping this team from a NC is stud DT like Torrey Davis. If we can get him and another DT to command double teams, there's no telling how good this DEF can be. I'll go on record and say I'm a member of the Torrey Davis fan club. I hope he can keep his grades up and stay out of trouble. |

Whether or not the handoff to Scott was clean, T. Davis was there to stop him short of first down.

I didn't notice TD in there much either.
Is Omar Hunter playing any? |

Watkins looked large and in charge yesterday too. I remember on a couple of pages it looked like he was going to get beaten by the left defensive end and Watkins just got ticked off and pancaked the dude instead.

Someone else stated that Hunter didn't dress for the game. I would imagine that means he is going to reshirt.

Hunter is hurting and will probably take a redshirt. Davis is beginning to realize that you have work hard every day every play in the SEC. Marxh started looking like he meant business last night. I would love to see Dunlop continue his development. When he is in sync he is just Un-Beatable. Terron Sanders had some very good plays last night. All in all the Defensive line and backers more than held their own.

I read something by Meyer this week that stated we should expect Hunter to redshirt (he's been injured, we don't NEED him, etc etc). |
