If every Gator Fan attending the game Saturday gave $1.00 to pay Coach Meyer's fine. There would be $60,000 left over for scholarships to UF.

I like it!!

take the extra 60,000 and have a stadium lottery and the winner will have the money donated in a scholarship in the their name. As an added bonus they will get to stand on the sideline for the FSU game and call 10 plays. Remember its FSU not FIU.

Just imagine the media coverage if we all did this collection for the coach. I'm all for it!! Pat Dooley also has to come up with half the fine since he was the schmucko that asked the question. Dooley sucks!

Coach has plenty of money to pay this fine. If you want to do something raise some money for the school to commerate the fine.

No, if you want to do something, raise the money for the Fort hood victims, and DEMAND the SEC match every penny we raise, first with Meyer's $30K, then our of their own pocket. Make this a positive for the victims and an object lesson on just who to screw with for the SEC.

It's not about the money. (Repeat 1000 times) It IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY!

We all know Urban is a wealthy man. We all know that the UAA will probably pay the fine anyway.

What we (supporters of an "everyman" contribution towards the $30,000) ARE about, is a grass roots show of support for Urban. He has Spikes' back. We have Urban's back.

You want Urban to understand that he is appreciated, but you won't spend 50 cents to voice that appreciation?

Some idiot went so far as to call this approach "socialism." It is really FAR more akin to charity. No one is forcing anyone to contribute through socialism or taxation.

It is a charitable gift. And remember that the root origin of "charity" is love. If you complain about others wanting to contribute and show Urban some love, what does that really say about your commitment as a Gator?

I would say it's not worth 50 cents.

That was discussed in 1984. We didn't do it then, we won't do it now. Even with the childish behavior of SEC "leadership" it is to our benefit to be in the best conference in the country. Consider this a cost of doing business.

Right, and sorry to bring this up, but Meyer really was in the wrong.

Meyer was not wrong. What Meyer said was the truth. He broke a rule, but was not wrong.
