I agree that Nick is the man. That no look pass across his body with two hands at the top of the key late in the second half was beautiful.

If you want to say the guy doesn't deserve the MVP, fine. That could be a great topic for discussion among differing viewpoints. But to say that he "sucks" , "is the biggest fraud in the NBA", " folds under pressure", "hyped to please the white crowd". All those remarks seem childish and uniformed, not to mention the racial overtones.

It hardly seems worth a response to inform this aged remnants of the bag of the douche that Nowitzki and Nash haven't played on the same team for four years now. One suspects this piece of Detroit trash has been estranged from rational thought even longer. Back to the GD subject, I was watching Calathes the other night and had the same thought, that he reminded me of a young Nash; but Nash didn't really blossom until Nelson brought him to Dallas after three or four years. I think Calathes is more advanced at his age than Nash was, and he's a much better court general. Nash is a scoring machine, not so much a leader. In the NBA you can't only take into consideration how "good" a PG is, you have to think of his stature in the league.
Example: I think Rondo is better than Cassel, but you need a Cassel, because he'll get 50/50 calls that Rondo won't. Half of being "great" in the NBA is politics. Can you work the referees? Do you get the "benefit of the doubt" calls? That's what seperates players in my mind. |

I'm nor sure I accept the premise absent quantifiable data, but I certainly agree that well respected players seem to get the benefit of the doubt on close calls. Because of his court presence, heady play, consistency and class, I can envision Calathes one day becoming a highly respected point guard. If that's politics, then I say the politics will -- after a few years in the league -- begin to fall his way. You know that secret place where old elephants go to die? a few weeks ago i was out of town and the hosts on a local station were talking how Nash gets assists, when technically they were not assists.
Caught the end of that conversation, but they were saying that dribbling (and scoring) after an assist would not normally count, but it does for this dude. Frank, it's one thing to get "crossed up". it's another to break your ankles while doing it. |

What's it matter if it's a 2 time MVP? They're all pros. Come on is it really that rare to see someone get crossed up? Kudos to you for keeping up with Nash enough see him get crossed up, how many videos have you seen where this happened? But just to make you happy here's a whole vid of em. BTW, all of these guys are professionals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwr3wNtzbtQ We Ride! We Fight! We Love! |

Mi-gator, I'm not one to name-call, but how would you respond to me if I said that UCLA was HORRIBLE at basketball, or that USC s-cked in football? What if I said Harvard was a school for the mentally challenged? Nash loses Joe Johnson, and the Suns still win 60 games. He loses Amare for the year...and he STILL wins 60. Now, he's lost Marion, and guess what?? The Suns are STILL winning! If Nash s-cks, why exactly do the Suns win so much? Over the last 4 years, Nash's Suns have won TWICE as many games as Kobe's Lakers, and I don't even want to THINK about how many more games they've won than Jason Kidd's Nets. The guy is the only person in the league that can average over 10 apg and shoot over 40% from three-point land, and as if that isn't enough, he's also be |
