I think in his prime as a Gator Spurrier was incredible and Meyer when he came into the SEC was a force but I think Kiffin is in a league of his own. Listening to his press conferences he seems to be the most driven coach I have ever heard. Every time he speaks it is always about recruiting and getting better. He made the comment today regarding the SC game that he wasn't happy with the teams performance this week and had to keep reminding hiself that he beat Spurrier by 18. He is doing great things, Vol fans see it, Recruits see it, ESPN see's it, even Urban Myer can see it. Gator fans are a little slow but even they will eventually see it.

They aren't any better than last year and the record proves it. They are 4th in the East. They are still fighting to get bowl eligible. The only thing I see is a guy that is excited to be losing. Everything seems to be going well, even though they suck. They have the only coach in the SEC that has a chance at being suspended because he doesn't know the rules. You have no shot at winning the East next year as you lose everyone and still don't have a QB. You most likely will have to start a true freshman. You have a coach that insults towns full of great football players and was banned from a high school. Yeah, we Gators have noticed, and we make fun of him daily. He is the laughing stock of the NCAA. The media loves to make fun of him. I am glad he is your coach and not ours. ------------------------------------------ The Gator Sports Board .com - for Gator Sports news |

He is a poser in the media. His interviews come off about as genuine as a bad fake rolex. That said, at least he poses in the right direction and his daddy is a hell of a DC. He will have some big personnel losses to over come next year. |

Wasn't (isn't) Ron Zook a pretty driven coach? Maybe at Tennessee drive and 8 win seasons with decent recruiting classes will be enough to stick around more than 3 years.

Apparently, you drink the same koolaid as Oxenfart. Probably has a strong essence of Tebow in it. This is the last year that you guys are going to be on top. Can't wait to watch the dynasty crumble. |

You're delusional if you think that you'll be kicking anyones a$$ next year. YOU HAVE NO QB!!! And, genius boy, in his infinate wisdom didn't recruit one last year. Plus, you are replacing A LOT of talent. C'mon, at least try to be reasonable... |

If talk alone won championships--i'd say great, Kiffwin is a champion. But since that's not the case in reality--u have to judge on coaching. So far he hasn't really proven or displayed any superior or even above average coaching ability. As a matter of fact--he's pretty much been a goof machine. Like another poster pointed out, his dad is a fine coach--Lane, not so much. He'll get a nice reality check next year..

The Tennessee faithful are behind Kiffin only because not supporting him is wishing ill fate on their beloved Vols.
Most believe that he is not a good fit for east Tennessee and that given the opportunity to bolt for an equal or better (fit) program, he'll jump ship. Most UT folks won't admit it when asked, but most are only encouraged by Kiffin's ability to recruit, which though not off-the-charts, is an improvement. A Graduate of Both! |

What you guys don't understand is we do have some seniors. A couple are walk on's who didn't even play last year yet the coaches have done such a good job at getting them ready they are better than more talented players from last year. If they can do what they have done with walk on's and less talent, wait until we have the best talent in the SEC. I am here because I got so tired of getting beat by better coached and equally or even less talented teams. Now we are becoming the better coached but less talented (for now) team and man does it feel good. If you guys can't see the improvement every week with the vols then I can understand you not seeing wats coming. In 43 years I have never seen a coach so driven. You guys believe he is an idiot. No he is a genius and in 9 months has college football saying Urban Who?

Why can't Tennessee fans understand talk is cheap - and so far that's all their coach and fans have brought to the table. Spurrier won the SEC (unofficial due to Hall) his first year and was still called arrogant. What do you call a big-mouthed coach who boasts but hasn't won crap? Amazing, truly amazing. This jerk already has his fans focusing on next year's games and not even being bothered by it.

the same Lane Kiffen that was close at halftime and was outcoached four times this year?
Even in their first year, Meyer, Spurrier, and Saban were rarely outcoached. So far, I've watched Gene Chezik (6-3), Rick Neuheisal (3-5), plus Meyer, and Saban all outcoach your boy and his overpaid staff. He's Mike Shula all over again. Maybe by trying to convince us you are actually trying hard to believe it yourself otherwise. |

Yeah, who's that guy who won NC in 3 of the past 4 years?? Instead they will be talking about a coach who will be doing good this year to break .500? |

Meyer, Saban and Spurrier were all outcoached by him already this year. You guys know it. ESPN said it. Fox sports said it. The freakin New York Times said it. Kiffin's the talk of the SEC. Change is coming. Close your eyes if you don't like what you see, doesn't change a thing.

Now I give your coach credit for improving many aspects of your program, but get real you are not going to be any better than UF for years to come and if Monty retires you might find out that a D is not too easy to get. Sure we will have openings but we have players already on the team to fill them, you do not. Now do all of us a favor and return to wherever you came from we have too many Voles etc here already!!! |

Oh Yeah I can't wait till Tebow is gone. Mad respect for the guy. May be the best college quarterback ever, I think you guys will agree. Urban has done everything with the best college quarterback ever. See how things change when he is gone.

I caught Kiffey's presser today at lunch....a few things in what he said struck me as odd. He said more than once that his staff was there to coach up the kids so that they could get a better payday in NFL. He mentioned it once refering to Newkeys and again when discussing the team. (this is his recruiting arguement...'play here and my dad will get you ready for the NFL' as opposed to lets win a National Championship) Another thing I found as odd was that they don't coach kids into a system, but rather develope a system around the talent that they have.... I found him pretty uninspired and frankly he looked tired of it all __________________________ At least they were wearing their prison orange jumpsuits.... __________________________ |

After this year, the only way for Kiffin to EVER surpass Meyer will be to win national championships 3 years in a row. Considering it doesn't look like he will even win the SEC then I would say Meyer's legacy as having one of the best runs in SEC history will be safe.
