Now the B Ball Gators are relegated to the N.I.T. after being National Champions.

As Bill Clinton use to say "I fee your pain"

Now the wheel has turned and Tennessee led by the brilliant colorful Pearl has take become the dominant force in the SEC. The world looks to the Vols instead of the gators for good basketball.

But there is a story that eclipses the rise of the Tennessee Volunteers. Memphis, a legendary basketball force in the South has once again stepped to center state. The whole world is watching and they look to the land of "the King" Calipari and the the Tigers have made their presence known and all fear the ROAR OF THE TIGERS.

One of you mentioned the fact UT and Memphis had never won a National Championship. How quickly we forget. Two years ago critics were saying the same thing about Florida and giggling at the thought of the lowly gators winning it all.

Sunday instead of fighting at the Alamo we will take the Alamo like Santa Ana.

Come on Gators. Join us. Put your hands in the air like you just don't care and yell.

Cosmos, how can u say that UT has become a "Dominatre Force" in one year? Come talk ur crap when thay actually win something soon.

Actually it will be very easy to raise our hands in the air like we just don't care....because we don't. At least not about you incessant ramblings.

I'm quite sure he'll have jumped off the bandwagon by then. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll break his neck in the fall. Or at least his typing hand.

For the 100th time let me once again explain the common dual loyalties of sports fans in Memphis, Tennessee. When you grow up in the Athens of the South many young kids catch "Tiger Fever" in basketball watching what was then Memphis State on local television. As you grow up depending on your individual circumstances you veer off from the Tigers in football claiming Ole Mis, Arkansas or Tennessee at your university to support. Of course the lion's share belongs to UT fn Memphis resulting in thousands of Memphis fans singing "Rocky Top" wildly supporting the Big Orange while never losing their Memphis Basketball Tigers genes from their childhood. If this does not meet with your approval then you've just made my day.

Now take that drag queen under your name back to your favorite bar where you can turn on the TV to watch your hapless Gators in the N.I.T and then go home and get your shine box.

I think I've got it. What you are saying is, since there isn't really one school in your region that has the ability to instill any sort of long term loyalty amongst the local mountain folks in all sports, you just sorta pick and choose whichever is the flavor of the week. I suppose when the anomaly of a successful season rolls around for one of the "lottery" schools you have to pick from, the bandwagons get really full.

We should pity this sort of aimless wondering in search of success. After all, we here in the Gator Nation sometimes forget how great it is the be a Florida Gator.....no matter the sport.

I'm sure that's what you were saying when UT beat Memphis this year.

Your pretty accurate about your post. The city of Memphis is king of having bandwagon fans. If the Tigers basketball team wasn't any good, then nobody would care about them, like the Memphis Grizzles.

When the Grizzles were a playoff team, games were sold out. Now, attendance for Grizz games are embarrassing, and the same thing will happen to the Tigers whenever their program starts to go downhill.

I'll say it again Memphis = thousands of bandwagon fans.

Whether I like it or not Memphis is the Mecca of fair weather sports fans but there always has been a fair sized die hard Memphis basketball base that always attended the games. Because of our history of fickle fans the odds are extremely low Memphis aka Willie World will ever get an NFL franchise.

Now let me get this straight. I grew up in Merritt Island as a Gator fan. I have been a Gator fan all these years (since 1966) and all this time I could have pulled for scUM or Half A$$ U any time I chose, just because those schools were in state?

Crap.

Cosmos showing his childish aptitiude by not being able to even choose one team and stick with them. what that really means, by splitting your loyalty, is that you are not really a loyal fan of either. Kids do that. They pick which team they think is better in different sports and root for them as their team, like Dallas cowboys in football, but Lakers in hoop etc. even though not even the same city etc.

Our loyalty to Memphis B ball does indeed go back to our childhood and we don't apologize.
