I'm surfin' channels and see Spikes coming up on PTI, so I wait. Then these two bald guys, most of you probably know their names, but I could give a Kiffin about them OR their opinions, bring up the obviously much discussed eye gouging effort by Spikes.

At least one of the idiots says something about what goes on in football pile ups, but the two things that pi**ed ME off were:

1. Some off hand comment about the SEC being lax in their governing of UF. (Isn't that why they let kiffEn stay on at ut?)

AND

2. Their next segment was about whether or not tennis pro Aggasi had hair extensions. wft? Who cares? No credibility there.

Bad Karma had me tune in to that show tonight. What a bunch of stupid Kiffin on TV.

btw, Spikes was wrong to do that, true, but the kid played the whole game. No blood, no foul.

Spikes was just f'n with him and he got caught in a compromising position on film. Do they really think it will stop the shenanigans in pile ups?

Idiots.

It's getting to the point where you want to watch the games in person or muting the TV while you watch, and forget about all these "announcers" and pre and post-game shows.

What does the fact that they're bald have anything to do with it? It's as if you're implying that their opinions don't matter b/c they are bald. It's not like they chose that...it's biological. And if they wore a toupe, people would rip them even more. This is why I never understand the bald blasts.

No, it's just that I'm starting to get a little thin on top, too, and I'm more sensitive to stuff like this now.

But if Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan did too then I can deal it

More proof that this is an alias. He constantly volunteers unflattering information about himself. You give yourself away on posts like this, man.

Ox- First, I'm not bald. I said it's beginning to get thinner as I move toward my 30's. I don't see how that's volunteering unflattering info and if you consider that "unflattering" then you're just as part of the problem as the original post. Second, I just don't get the bald blasts...or short blasts, or any other blast that's biologically based. If you want to rip someone for what they wear, fine...they made a conscious decision to put on jean shorts or whatever. But why say "two bald guys ESPN"...how bout, "two sports journalists" or even better "Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon." And for the record I think Wilbon's shaved head looks pretty tight.

Nobody cares what you think...seriously

Winning at Doak used to be like trying to have sex with a virgin. If you were lucky, you might have gotten a sniff.

Doak Campbell stadium is now a filthy, disease-infested prostitute, teeming with the stench of other team's victories.

Get used to it. The Spikes eye gouging is going to be the second most played player dirty incident, second only to the Oregon Blount punch thrown. The Oregon faithful can talk all they want about the guy taunting and or provoking Blount, but all people talked about and remember him for his his violent act. Same with Spikes. He made his bed, no one made him gauge at the player's eyes. But when footage is caught, it will be played ad nausea and the offending person assumes that risk when they commit the act.

Like if you get caught in a hooker sting no one is going to empathize with your entrapment plea, they are going to watch the video and say you got caught with your overalls around your ankles...period. You assumed the risk when you went trolling.

I like PTI...Wilbon and Kornheiser have been there and seen it all. Generally speaking, they are pro-Gator and pro-SEC.

I think Wilbon (more than most) calls 'em like he sees 'em.

It's definitely more entertainment than news and reminds me of being around the water cooler and talking sports - except they do all the talking. I definitely don't take what they say very seriously but it gives you a good idea of the general perspective and opinion of sports fans around the country.

I agree. I think if asked, even THEY would say they don't take themselves seriously on the show. It's a fun half hour of little quips and opinions. It's better than listening to a Mark May who thinks his opinion would sway the stock markets.

This thread is more entertaining than the espn blabbers. It's also more informative.

For example, I know to take condoms with me for next year's game a tallahassee.

As for Spikes, it looks like a gouge, but it could've been an attempted noogie. What does Ealey the RB say happened? Or can't he see his way to commenting on the matter?

I think he was insinuating that they were old and out of touch. Although I guess you can’t make that ascertain anymore considering that you will be bald by the time you reach 30!

I actually like watching some of those talking head shows just to get various perspectives. However, I think the punishment by Meyer for one half instead of the whole game isn’t preferable but it’s still adequate. The suspension was adequate, quick and decisive. The game of football is a dirty game to begin with and anyone who has actually played at any level can attest to that. The talking heads many of whom have never played think football is a graceful sport and that “sportsmanship” actually means hugs, kisses and shaking hands pregame instead of warriors jousting in combat.

Bottom-line, Brandon Spikes said he would go to war for his team and he did. All game long Gators were being poked and prodded and it was time for the defensive leader to back his team. While the “act” was gruesome and not pretty to watch, so is football in general at times but in the end no one was hurt.

could've been an attempted noogie

THIS is a distinct possibility, now that Ealey has spoken out. Credit Spikes for not defending himself and taking the punishment. Now he looks like a man's man. Do the "apparent" crime, do the time. And we have plays reviewed in these times, and still everybody jumps to conclusions.
