What would make you think that this thread has anything at all to do with you? Why on earth would we think that our team is above the law? Are you serious? We had more arrests in recent years than we care to talk about. You are really just typing stuff so that you can see what it looks like on the internet...aren't you? As far as our team being the best in the land...well...I can say with certainty that it's the best in the state of Florida. The fact that you just came on here talking crap about one of our players only solidifies the fact that now, when your team has more off the field issues, there will continue to be some Gators and Canes that will find you just to rub it in your face. Good job keeping the circle of crap going. We Ride! We Fight! We Love! |

You just did. Anyways, the only person that said anything about the Noles or the Canes was a Vol. So, before bashing Gator fans, get your facts straight. |

Our depth sure is going to take a hit, but Will Hill, you have a position to fill. You better be as good as advertised.

What you just typed makes no sense whatsoever. The fact that we had many arrests would imply that we would know that we weren't above the law...because the players went through the legal process. We Ride! We Fight! We Love! |

I think we need to let all the facts come out before we sentence this guy to the death penalty as so many of you seem ready to do. IF he is guilty, then he needs to go. This is one of the most heartless offenses I have heard of. I think UM is going to get all the facts before kicking Hornsby off the team. He will probably be suspended indefinitely until his court date.

For those of you referring to what Hornsby did as a mistake- this was no mistake.
He didn't wrongly identify or confuse anything. He didn't misunderstand the intention or the menaing of something. This wasn't a deficient knowledge issue or a misinterpretation. This was a callous, reprehensible, criminal act that is a reflection of bad character. Make no mistake about it. |

There is no doubt about it that what Hornsby done is in-excusable. But like Coach Meyer is doing, you must wait for all the facts to come in. Make it Rain! Formerly known as Chrisleakfan4life. Check out my Gator videos on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/Chrisleakfan4life |

Were there others involved in his spending sprees? This could get even worse.

Makes you wonder what Coach Meyer is going to do.
What Jamar did was pretty heartless and stupid. Do you kick him to the curb? You also have to take into account that something needs to be done to tell our players about staying out of trouble. Outside of lawful punishment, a public apology to the family, the university, and his teammates and coaches for embarrassing them do you then kick him off or try to teach not only Jamar Hornsby, but the rest of the team a lesson. I think the team needs to get together and call out Jamar Hornsby and get in the guys face and give them their opinion about what he did, how he screwed up, and ask him what he was thinking. Kicking him to the curb is the easy way to go, he has had multiple run in's and second chances and he keeps on messing up so obviously something needs to be done. If he is kicked out of the school and off the team than so be it. I just think that something more psychologial needs to be done and the Gators need to clean up their act. They were doing good so far until this happened. I think the family of this girl and Joe Haden need to have a talk with Jamr, maybe even Coach Meyer and Mrs. Meyer need to be there as well. Kicking him out again is an option and if they chose it than i won't disagree with it. But what is to stop this guy from doing it again? He needs to learn and kicking him out won't change very much. Who knows maybe Tim Tebow can help Jamar out like he tries to help those guys in prison. Make it Rain! Formerly known as Chrisleakfan4life. Hey Katz, as far as student-athletes making mistakes/violating rules/committing crimes, the programs should indeed be held responsible, but that can only go so far. These athletes are legal adults and are responsible for their own actions. The programs and institutions are not the ones committing their crimes.
Anyone would be hard pressed to find a major college sports program whose student athletes never find themselves in trouble. It is the institution's and program's response that makes the difference. When a player commits a felony, is he kicked off the team or does he just run stadiums? If a player doesn't go to or pass his classes, is he still eligible for the bowl game? Some disciplinary decisions are dictated by the NCAA and some are left to the program. What we are saying here as Gators is, IF Hornsby did this, he should be punished as severely as possible. If you can't appreciate our discussion, then I'm sure you have your own board. formally homecoming2006gator |

Remember what Spurrier did with Jabar Gaffney? Gaffney had to sit out a year, pay his own way AND then WALK-ON the next year. He eventually got back on scholarship, but I thought Spurrier did a good job with him. Personally though, IF Hornsby did this, I think he has to go. I think the impact on team chemistry would be cancerous even if he is severely punished. formally homecoming2006gator |
