What's his feel for the progress of Saban at Bama? Hard to pick a real winner coming out of the west this year. Auburn has a new scheme on offense, LSU, though loaded with talent has a big question mark at QB, and Saban is still building mostly on Schula's recruits... |

Is there any update on Omar's injury? Nobody has really said what was wrong with his back or how bad it was. Is that a good sign?
Also, Matt Patchan's injury... Who is the other nameless freshman Meyer mentioned yesterday starting this season? Who do you think will start as the running back this season? |

What have you seen/heard regarding the subpoena that may or may not have been served on Coach Fulmer???

Do you get the feeling that the coaches and players around the SEC will fear Chris Rainey coming into the season, or will he take them by surprise?
Also, do you think the opposing media, coaches and players have any respect for our secondary? How do other teams feel about our spring game being televised? |

Question 1:
Did Phil Trautwein say anything intresting during his Q&A? I havent heard or read anything from him. Our OLine should be a major strength this season, with him as the anchor. Question 2: Who is going to be returning kicks with B. James? Rainey or Moore Question 3: Coach didnt seem to concerned about the new clock rule changes. Did any other coaches mention it or seemed worried about how they will adjust to the faster tempo? |

Thanks for doing this, Pat.
2 quick questions: 1)Do you have any idea who the incoming freshman is that might be moving from offense to S? 2)What was the general reaction of the media to Richt's explanation about the celebration? |

OK, I'm here early. Let me answer the questions that are here and any more you may have.
1. Predicting the West is tough. I picked Auburn but can see LSU or Bama winning it. I think Ole Miss will be the surprise. picking the sixth-place team is the tough part. 2. SEC champ — Florida. 3. Urban told me Omar's back will be fine and he'll be ready to go but you always wonder about a lineman with back issues (see: Kenny Parker). Patchan is supposed to be OK. Meyer told me that patchan is like Tebow in terms of his intensity. “If he's not playing, I''m not coaching,” he said. 4. The celebration was a major part of Richt's talk. He apologized. It's going to be a big deal for awhile. But other than Florida and Georgia media, it hasn't been a big deal up here. 5. Fear Rainey? Not until he does something. But they are going to have to gameplan for him. Meyer told me they can come at you with two tight ends, then go with five speedsters on the next play. He was smiling. Respect the secondary? No reason to yet. The coaches don't care about UF spring game on TV because they know it could be them next year or the year after. 6. Trautwein was low key. I watched him hit four meals at dinner though. Moore will likely be the other guy back there because they love his blocking. Clock issues — I agree with Phil Fulmer. It's a pain in the butt. Leave the game alone. It's working. 8. Miles certainly seems like a doofus but he hires great assistants. Saban is not as much arrogant as he is focused. The rest of the world doesn't matter to him. 9. TJ Lawrence is the guy who is moving to safety. |

Other than Georgia, who do you think has the best chance at beating us?

I asked Meyer which freshmen would redshirt this year. he said, “Zero.” He wants them all ready for special teams. Hunter, Hill, Jenkins, Patchan, Beal will have the most impact.
