Anyone know who Robert Wendell Smith is?
It doesn't seem like that big a deal, it's just a notice to appear at a deposition. If the DA really wanted him to show up, he'd offer free Krispy Kremes to the first 400 pounder. |

I looked up Fulmer's address on the subpoena and it is a Krispy Kreme donut shop.

Had a feeling that guy wouldn't stop until he served coach Fulmer...Now the bad part of this for Smith is that if Fulmer comes out and admits to some things about the Alabama program, It MIGHT cause the NCAA to do another investigation into the Alabama program...Bama has already been warned and the next step is the death penalty if they are caught again...My god, All hells about to break loose.

Smith is one of the Alabama boosters who was banned from the university after they were caught and put on probation...He's the one who claims Fulmer was the one who helped the NCAA to catch Bama...I heard rumors back in the day that it was Spurrier AND Fulmer who helped turn them in...No proof of that however and was only a rumor...I feel sorry for Alabama come this season in knoxville...That beating We give them might be legendary.

Didn't they take you behind the woodshed last year? _______________________________________________

SOS did turn them in, but that was for 1993. Phil is the one who turned them in for Albert Means. UF was not involved in the recruitment of Means. |

Spurrier was pretty vocal about the hanky panky involved with Travis Carroll. Free SUVs and such. That was about the same time.

Nah, Carroll graduated HS in 97. That was a bit before this most recent snafu... although I can see how you think that since Alabummer was pretty much constantly in trouble in the 90's.

That was three years ago, and it wasn't nearly as bad as the pounding they gave UT last year. Sorry to break it to you, but they will beat you guys again this year. Your run against UGA is over as well. Get ready for 6-6! _______________________________________________

I could go on and on about this mess, but I won't. The most hilarious thing about the Bama/Fulmer mess is; A guy that was at the top of the list for turning them in and was a big part of the recruiting scandal.........is now their head coach.

Could care less whatever happens to Bama...in fact, no probation is good enough for them unless it resorts in a complete ability to never play football again at a meaningful level.
Seriously, only Georgia is ranked higher in my hatred (and thats just barely). As for Fulmer, hope he has fun dealing with all this...certainly he's getting a lot of what he deserves. Sticking your nose out like that is only going to **** people off-and sure enough, its come back to haunt him. The negative press and speculation will distract him from the upcoming season and along with it, recruiting. |
