Consider this quote from University of Maryland QB Chris Turner, speaking of the 2-6 (1-3) Terrapins:
"If we win out, and a few things go our way, we'll be playing in the ACC championship." Bring your A game for the nole, terps! |

The fact that FSU still has a shot at winning their division sums it up.

In the ACC, the season is allowed to play out instead of having a predetermined, officiating assisted champion like the SEC has.
j/k ya'll we're 8-1, and we've already beat two SEC teams, we'll win over a third before the season is over. I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech.. |

It has been clear to me all season that GT is the class of the ACC. Paul Johnson will rule that conference for the foreseeable future. Class wins; he has it and his teams show it.

It might make sense that instead of an automatic bid to the BCS for winning the ACC, the winner of the ACC should have to play Boise and that winner goes to the BCS bowl.

Duke controls its own destiny, 8 games into the season.

Why is that so funny? I think Florida controls it's own destiny (as the saying goes) 8 games into the season.. as does Alabama, Texas, etc I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech.. |

Actually, Duke is not doing that bad. Interesting that it took an old SEC coach to wake them up. Cutcliffe was the heart of the old Tn staff. He has done a heckuva job.

The implication is that Duke would NOT still control its own destiny in a conference like the SEC... it would be 2-6 (0-5 in conference) and have been eliminated already... not a front-runner for the conference title! PS: Duke is not good, assuming we're still talking about football. Comparing them to Florida, Alabama, and Texas is... ========================= Want to read something better than drivel from forum trolls? Want to read a good novel for FREE? I've got just the place. Are you talking about refs from another conference? Need we remind you it was the swindle in the swamp that helped bring instant replay because of the ACC refs! Try thinging before you type. |

Don't put the UGA game in the win column yet. Also, remember your wins were against SEC cellar dwellers. UGA may be a mediocre team this year by SEC standards, but if they were in the ACC, they would be challenging GT. I think UGA might be able to pull the upset, and I hope they do. Since the Gators own UGA, I want UF's property to do well in OOC games. **** "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money" - Margaret Thatcher |

Perenial losers like Duke and Vandy (and Tennessee of late) wouldn't be competitive in the SEC. That's the point. As for the clown emoticon, that means Noles. And I'm laughing at them seperately, because they are basically in no better shape than Dook at this point. As for the gangsta emoticon, that represents the coCanes. And they are in the same boat. Now one question for you. Why in the world would a Ga Tech fan be hanging out on a Gator board. Do you just hangout on every board? Colorado? Fresno State? I must say that I can't think of a reason why I'd feel compelled to check a Ga Tech board. |

That's more than one question but I'll gladly answer them anyway. We have several (4) common opponents this year: Vandy (whom you play this week), Georgia, Miss. St. and we both play Florida State. With that many, and your ranking, it's interesting read the comments about them. Early in the season, I thought we'd be giving you guys a run this season. We've already won against Fla St (your turn now) and we'll take on UGa in a couple weeks - we should win that one as well. Our game fart with UM has been a major road block for us. Unless I'm missing something, up until last weekend perennial loser USC was still in the SECe race, weren't they? As an aside, The Gator obsession with Lane Kiffin has been very entertaining (as has the Vols with Meyer) this season. As the excitement began to build I signed up for a Vol board as well. Other than a couple of GT boards the only other board I go to is the LSU/Tigerdroppings, which as you may recall, we played last year in the bowl game. I'm a ramblin' wreck from Georgia Tech.. |

Back on topic...the "All Cupcake Conference" is setting low goals and consistently failing to achieve them. Good start for GT, but they always flounder at the end of the season and this year willbe no different.

Perfectly played, Maryland.
You lose to NC State today, but if you still win the REST of your games, you won't be bowl-eligible, but STILL win the ACC Atlantic with a 5-7 (4-4) record. What a freakin joke of a league |
