don't feed the trolls...it's threads like these and the responses they get in their threads that keep them here. If we all were to never even read one of their threads (let alone post in them) they would all leave...it would be easier than banning them

Relevant at one point in his life, but now is past it, knows it, and desperately tries to either prop himself up or amount to something. For another suitable analogy, think of the uncle from Napoleon Dynamite"

Does bring the word 'smegma" to mind! 'Memphis State!' Big Grin Must have thought they won the Metro 7 championship to get into the tourney. Who's coaching them...Dana Kirk?

Again we have an example of reptillian reasoning power and its consequences in their rather pathetic posts. The switch from the name of the university from Memphis State to the University of Memphis occurred in 1994. When I was a kid growing up and contracting "Tiger Fever" the name was the MEMPHIS STATE Tigers and it's hard to wean adults from their childhood haunts and fun.

I still think of the Tigers as Memphis State.

Next time know your history before you try to make a point, Lizard brain.

He's no doubt an expert on the subject. and he'll probably tell you "experience" is the best teacher.

Just waiting for the "my Dad can beat up your Dad" response.

I understand that it is difficult to communicate on the tennessee board with "f" subsituting for "th" and "a" for "i" in most words, but can you simly leave us alone.

We don't have second favorite teams and teams we have loved all our lives and all along, after our team loses.

It is time for you to go back to your log cabin and playing with squirrels.

Not to stick up for Cosmos here - but a true Tiger fan only knows the school as Memphis State.

My first and only team before I went to school at UF was the Tigers and it will always be Memphis State - with that said they will not win this year - just the luck that the Tigers have.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this or not, but when memphis still had the "State" attached they gave us a home loss ('89 i think) in a pretty ugly Saturday afternoon in BHG... furious

All the more reason to dislike them.

I did not know that - as I did not receive my letter of acceptance to UF until December 1989.

Yea, I know where you're coming from. Think of all the great Memphis State players over the years that entertained and thrilled us. Somehow you wish they could be a viable part of this run. Now they're showing Jack Eaton on that Ashley furniture commercial that promised free furniture to some of their shoppers if the Tigers win it all. Despite my bravado and ball breaking don't think in the back of my mind that old Memphis State B Ball curse is creeping around threatening doom and gloom with the eventual loss. I'm betting that Calipari and the 2007-2008 class will blast the curse into oblivion.

We'll have to wait and see what shakes loose in San Antonio.

As I am sure this huge Memphis State homer (Cosmos) knows that MSU beat us at BHG in '88, but we smoked them at the Liberty Bowl in '89. I was at both, and saw a fan repeatedly changing his hat from a ut one to a MSU one, and now I know why.

I think we beat them in the regular season in '89 after they beat us in '88(i must have been off by a year)

Didn't we play Ill in the Liberty Bowl in Emmitt's last year?

I could be wrong..
