While we are all waiting, and waiting, and waiting for this season to finally start, and while we bicker about rbs and dls and dbs and who's gonna win or lose by how much...it may be a good time for reflection.
The most gut wrenching loss for me, as a fan, was when Auburn beat us and Emmitt Smith was shwon on the sidelines crying his eyes out. The guy carried Florida for three years, put his heart and sole into every game...and I think after that loss it dawned on him that he couldn't do it. That moment is when I really fell in love with College Football. Their kids playing thier hearts out. (Except Bo Jackson...who pulled up lame every time our defense shut him down) |

The Swindle at the Swamp was the worst loss I've ever personally endured. At the end of that game, I would have paid to have seen Chris Rix eaten alive by wild dogs.

What he said for all-time. For me, last year, it was the Auburn loss... |

Agree with FSU, but I also think of the '94 Auburn game over last year's... No. 1, undefeated vs. SEC teams at home under Spurrier... HORRIBLE.. but I have to include the Fiasco Beatdown... SO SO SO CLOSE to FINALLY having a perfect season... to see it not only taken away, but ripped right out of your chest cavity... |

I'll chime in on this one from the UM perspective. Easily the 2002 BCS Title game...first Willis McGahizzle goes out with the knee, then the totally bogus call, and then the last play seeing Dorsey get slung around and just kind of toss up a lame duck throw to end his UM career...it still haunts me to this day. To cope, I've chosen to take the denial route, so that team will always be "Back-to-Back" champs in my mind.

Nothing to me was worst than 2001 UT/UF game. We blew our shot at the Rose Bowl.

Bernie Kosar running scUM down the field in 41 seconds in "The Big Sombrero" back in the day. Or, 1/2A$$U coming back in the 4th quarter...

Any loss to UT. I go into hibernation when UT beats us. The fans become unbearable

Not to flame, but you would've been blown out and embarrassed on the biggest stage so you weren't missing much. Going to the OB to crush Maryland and send Spurrier out with a win was the best scenario. I think the Choke at Doak or even the 05 choke job against Spurrier with ATL on the line would be bigger. Swindle at the swamp hands down! I cussed after almost every play. It was obvious we were playing against more than 11 on the field and that the ACC had their fingerprints all over it.
FSU is getting theirs now. Since that game, they have been mostly downhill. Karma, you gotta love it. There's a little karma coming Georgia's way this year too. Hey Canething..... I hear that Miami had no one on the All ACC team. How's it feel to know that that Duke has you circled on their schedule as the their only sure win? |

One that hasnt been mentioned, that Canething will probably eat up...
the 2003 collapse at the Orange Bowl. 33-10...I remember thinking we were so dominant, I was on the phone most of the first and second half with my uncle, saying how good our defense looked and our chances at a national title. I was wrong. The fact it was Berlin too sucked. ![]() "Yeah, he is a molder for sure, wonder what Illinois frat he is leading his men against this week to plunder and slay. Not a loss, but the 31-31 tie to F$U will always stick out. That and 94 Auburn, but I was sitting 3 rows from the field to witness all it's horror on 4th and 10 in it's full glory! God I hate Auburn....and FSU......and Tennessee...... and Georgia.....and LSU.........and Miami
I kinda like Kentucky... they're cute and cuddly. |

all our loses last year were pretty painful - considering we should have been in nearly all of them and won.

LSU in 97. We're #1, still on the title high, and playing LSU (who we usually destroy). I remember talking all kinds of crap to LSU fans at school, and then seeing the Tyler, Faulk, and Donaldson nightmare. It hurt so bad, because it costed us in the end, and it was a total fluke. That game started the "night in Death Valley" crap. The INT's still hurt.

For me it was Auburn in 06. That game had me so worked up i could not sleep, and when i did doze off I had nightmares. That game still gets my blood pressure up.

You are right about the FSU 31-31 tie that would be #1 or 2 on my list, with the swindle game. After that tie my cousin's family teased me for years: " Why do you never ask a Gator for change for a dolar,... ...becasue they can only give you 3 quarters." It's still not funny (especially after experiencing Zook). We were up by either 3 or 4 touch downs and we gave it away. I can't believe there wasn't OTs yet. Bowden could have gone for 2 to win it (or lose it) but he knew a |
