Disclaimer: I'm not advocating Cam leaving, but for the sake of discussion...

Has there been any discussion about him staying or transferring? How late could he announce a transfer? Could you imagine if Cam went to Michigan? RR is definitely scrambling given the Pryor turn! If you were Cam's family would you tell him to take a look? Missouri would be another intriguing spot for him to think about. I know we're playing 2 QBs next year, but would Newton be better served playing somewhere else? More reps? More exposure? More forgiving conference?

If you were FORCED to pick another program for him, which would you pick? I’ve heard people mention Oregon, but I think Dixon’s tenure was an aberration. As before mentioned, my “first looks” would be Missouri or Michigan.

Give me something more than the Gator "party line." I'm interested in the analysis of the situation (within the vacuum of Cam's potential NFL draft status, not what‘s best for the Gator Nation, if you can separate the two :winkSmiler.

He won't leave regardless.

But Michigan makes the most sense if he did.

Well he couldn't play next season anyway if he transferred, so as far as this upcoming season goes, it would make no difference to any of those programs.

As for how late a transfer can take place, I believe a player must be enrolled in classes by the Fall enrollment deadline. Moody transferred here late in the game - just in time to start classes so he could sit out the requisite one year and take a redshirt.

And, again, any top tier program(Um, UF, etc.) is going tyo recruit the best possible players, especially at the skill positions..

Do you think any school, if given the opportunity to sign a Tebow-type player next recruiting season, wouldn't jump on it??

He could find himself in the exact situation in 2 years, or worse.

He is basically guaranteed an opportunity to start at least one year, which is enough to get him NFL draft exposure.

He'd be crazy to transfer to any school, other than a no-name school that he could walk in tomorrow and be a lock to start.

And from what I've heard, read, and seen, he's loving being a Gator.

Sorry, I can't de-program myself and depart from the party line. When I read a thread like this I feel like you're asking me to chose what type of cancer I'd prefer having. I just can't answer....

I know for a fact that Cam won't be leaving Florida anytime soon. He loves it here, and I think as long as he can beat out Brantley for the back-up role this year he will be the starter when Timmy leaves.

My bet is on him starting after Tebow leaves, which could be the end of 2008.

Hopefully Cam improves as a Passer if he is to take over with Tebow is finished. Personally I prefer the more pure passing type QB rather than a scrambler. Cam is young so hopefully he'll settle down but he did not look very soild while playing in real games last year. And the part that Tebow played the entire UGA game and we went to Moore on a short yardage play that concerns me a bit. Though I think that if Cam did not have it in him Meyer wouldn't be wasting Cam's time with it. And we run the spread so looking at NFL status is a bit hard. QB's have to prove themselves as passers to be in the NFL then to have a chance at actually playing is another thing. Just to often do scramblers seem to have to change positions.
I don't think Cam leaves UF. Meechigan and RR would put him to running far to much to be a legit QB and missouri though not a bad fit for a dual threat QB and Daniels is coming back for another year which would be the RS year but are they a legit program or just one and done?

People who see him as a runner and not a a passer must not have seen his videos from HS. This kid ran a 5 receiver set in HS. He was throwing the ball all around.
