I think he makes enough to afford the donation to charity.

I think it's a cool idea. I might be able to find 35 cents somewhere....

That would be great. I think a donation to the university's general scholarship fund in the amount of 30K on behalf of Urban Meyer would be a more classy move. I'm sure he can handle his fine. and our tax dollars, to some degree, are already paying that fine.

Just make it a fund raiser for a food drive in recognition of the coach. I'll chip in. I bet we could raise quite a bit of funds for a worthy cause.

It would need to be registered with the state.

Sigh. Our tax dollars do not pay Urban's salary. He is an employee of the private UAA. CBS/ESPN/Boosters...that's who's paying the fine.

GREAT IDEA! I even think Urban would like a donation more than paying him back! How about an online link to donate! Someone on another post suggested that.

I'd be willing to bet that the UAA pays the fine anyway. No way Foley lets Meyer pay that, considering the softness of the offense.

I can't believe you would start a thread like this in these economic times.

Some of us have to focus our finances on much more serious issues...like SEC championship tickets.

Remember ... the point is to send a message to the SEC so we have to craft it that way. Something like SEC Fines For Scholarship Donation.

Your tax dollars do not fund a dime of Urban Meyer's salary. They do not fund a dime of the athletic budget at UF. On the contrary, the UFAA donates millions back to the University every year.

That is well documented, and you can look at their financial statements online if you are curious about it. link
