The White House is tapping out in its war with Fox News Channel. Obama's press secretary Robert Gibbs reached out to FNC senior vice-president Michael Clemente, and during a meeting Wednesday agreed to call a truce. The White House will apparently no longer criticize cable's top-ranked news channel.

President Obama, chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, senior advisor David Axelrod and communications director Anita Dunn all publicly slammed Fox within the past three weeks. The attacks backfired. Fox's ratings grew by 10 percent since Dunn fired the first shot, four other networks pushed back against Obama's bullying, and CBS exposed the White House for lying about excluding Fox from a network pool interview.

The winner of the war, by far, is the Fox News Channel. If this were a UFC fight, Fox is Brock Lesnar, the undisputed champion that gets better with each fight. The Obama administration comes off as Kimbo Slice, a hyped-up bully who is beaten down and revealed to be a rank amateur.

The real losers are the American people, who expect results from their taxpayer dollars. The White House wasted countless time and effort preparing a strategy against Fox, instead of preparing a strategy in Afghanistan, where our troops are in harm's way. However, do not expect the truce to last long. Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity have plenty of ammunition left to fire at the most liberal President in U.S. history.

Typical waste of time by this do-nothing in the oval office. They're all getting a good laugh about the "McCrystal-lite" deal while our troops will be the ones to suffer. Speaking of Beck, I agree with him that if we aren't going to use the resources we have to win then get our people out until there is a true committment to winning there. Or you can continue to blame Bush for everything. Some choice! This has "Vietnam 2" written all over it.

I believe Twain's quote goes something like this..."Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel."

Obama needs to remember that.

You guys are funny. The White House didn't surrender, they just successfully reached their goal. Sure Fox News may have gained some viewers much like a traffic accident gains some rubber neckers, but Fox News was never the target. The target is the republican party, and while Fox News may have gained it was the republican party that has been diminished, and THAT was the obvious goal of the so-called war on Fox News.

The only thing worse than a knee-jerk liberal is a knee-pad conservative.

We will see if the Republican party is diminished after tonight's elections.
